As a top real estate team, we’ve been fortunate over the years to help many families relocating to the metro Albuquerque New Mexico area. Whether they were making a job move, retiring, PCSing to Kirtland Air Force Base, personal choice, moving back to New Mexico, or coming here for some other reason, we have a great relocation guide and lots of resources to assist you.
Often when relocating, you’ve got a general idea of when you’d like to be here. Sometimes, it’s a year or three out, and that gives us plenty of time to get you familiar with the city and outlying areas. Sometimes we get the call and you are flying in within the week and haven’t had time to do your research on homes and neighborhoods. Either way, we have helped clients in both scenarios. When you’re a long ways out, we can do scouting for you, send links to maps, so onsite visits for you including having you online with us during the tour. One of the things we really like to do if you have time is do online neighborhood drive throughs - showing you the nearby parks, trails, and amenities. Sometimes getting a bigger picture of the neighborhood really helps.

A general home buying consultation is offered and during this, we cover how you live, what hobbies are important, what size home and yard works best for you, what you’re accustomed to and hope to have in your New Mexico home. This consultation can be over the phone, in person, or over chat/zoom. It’s about more than just how many bedrooms you want. We like to get to know what’s important to you. Often during this consultation, we can mention some businesses, schools or neighborhoods that are worth exploring as potential areas for you to check out, see if they resonate with you.
We know there are plenty of online home search websites out there. We have the tools to set up a very pinpointed search for you. The benefit of this is we can ensure the homes you’re sifting through meet certain criteria that could be necessary - like to match the type of financing you intend to use. Some homes look great online, but are only accepting cash offers. Others might limit the type of loan the seller will consider. Or, perhaps you want a certain type of heating or cooling system. Also, this search allows you to mark properties as favorites or not, and leave notes for us about what you like or don’t like about the house, so we can get a better idea of what you like.
Once you know if you will be visiting in person, we can give advice on hotels or short term properties, and we’re happy to tell you about our favorite restaurants and activities. For your first day out looking at homes in person, we like to put together a tour of homes to get you a really good overview of areas and homes. If possible, we schedule 6 to 8 homes to view in person. At the end of that day, often you’ll have a feeling of what areas you wish to focus on further for day 2.

If you will be buying without visiting in person (or have a trusted friend or family member touring with us on your behalf), we also plan to tour homes and neighborhoods to get your feet wet. That’s assuming you don’t know our metro area very well. If you know where you want to be, we’ll focus on that for sure. Ahead of the home tour, we will send you detailed information about each house we’ll see, and the tour order, along with a map showing the location of all properties we’ll tour so you can get better oriented.
We know when you come to a new city, often you need to get established with a variety of providers. We do have lists of resources that many of our past clients have used and recommended to us. What can we help you with in your relocation to the Albuquerque area?
