Supplements: From Seller: The front of the house (about 600 sq ft) is a square adobe built in the 1920s by its owner. A subsequent owner in the 1990s added a wood frame extension that includes a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and family room. The entire house is very comfortably heated by three mini-splits. Additional heat is available from the kiva fireplace in the kitchen. The family room, which is heated by a mini-split, also collects passive solar heat. The bathroom is warmed by electric radiant floor heat. The kitchen stove is gas-fueled, as is the tankless water heater. The house is connected to the electrical grid (CNMEC) but energy is generated by 20 solar panels on the roof, which covers most electrical costs. The roof functions as a water collector.
