Driveway Maintenance: Why you should do this for your Albuquerque Home

(Transcript Snippet): “Tego:
Hi. So we have a guest today Vincent Quintana with On Cue asphalt did I get that right? Vincent? Okay. Got it. Got it. So, so we, we brought you in, because you know, we do a show about real estate do talk about, you know, home, home ownership, things you should be doing, you know, preventive, maintenance and so on. And what you do is pretty unique and there’s you do maintenance on driveways, basically asphalt.
Vincent:
Yes.
Tego:
You do commercial. Residential. Yep. And, and, and so first off, tell us about your company, how long you’ve in business?
Vincent:
Well, I’ve been in business since January of this year.
Tego:
Got it. So this is new, but you’ve been in asphalt for how long?
Vincent:
Over 10 years.
Tego:
Got it. Got it. You’ve you’ve you’ve, you’ve,useen a lot of tar over the years. Oh
Vincent:
Yeah. I’ve I’ve earned my stripes.
Tego:
Got it. Got it. So if somebody wants to get a hold of you just give your number or here real quick. Just if somebody wants to reach out to you.
Vincent:
Well I prefer to get reached on Google. Okay. Just because, you know, it gives me a better, you know,
Tego:
That makes trust me. I know all about that. Yeah. You smart, man.
Vincent:
No. Yeah. If they, you know, if they, they could reach me on, you know, on Q asphalt maintenance yep. On Google, Google, and you know, it shows pictures and I’m gonna be putting up some new videos and stuff today as well.
Tego:
Good
Vincent:
For you, you know, the jobs that I’ve done,
Tego:
Videos, everything, man. It is, it’s a big deal. Any small business owner, if you’re not doing video, you’re missing out. Oh yeah. So, so anyway, what is, what is asphalt maintenance first off?
Vincent:
Asphalt maintenance is basically the maintenance side of paving. Mm-Hmm it’s kind of like the cheaper side of paving cuz I know paving can be expensive.
Tego:
Oh it is well, especially with the
Vincent:
Oh yeah. Especially with the oil prices going up. Yeah. Even the maintenance side is starting to go up, you know? I mean, it’s, it’s ridiculous now. So but it is better. I mean it’s, I think it makes your driveway or your parking lot last, a little bit longer. Got it. You know, until you can get funds to actually pave,
Tego:
Pave over it again. Yeah, exactly. And so, so what do you guys do? So like, like for a residential driveway, we, we mainly talk about residential real estate here, but mm-hmm you do, you do commercial as well, but so you guys go in there and what do you do? You, you clean it and then, and then so what do you do? What does, what does a maintenance program look like?
Vincent:
So the process of it is I would go in there. I would clean it with a blower mm-hmm , you know, the, the either a walk behind blower or a hand blower, mostly on driveways. We usually just use hand blowers. Yeah. You know, just because it’s that big walk behind blow is just too powerful, you know, that’s more for like parking lots and stuff like that. Yeah. So yeah, we would clean it and then a crack seal it okay. Basically putting a hot, you know, a hot rubber in the cracks. Got it. And then we’d sail coat over it, you know, and that’s basically that protects it from the sun weather damage, you know, snow rain, you name it,
Tego:
You know? Yeah. And that’s what I asked you earlier, you know, why should somebody do this? And that’s what you said, right. Is, is to really just lengthen the life of the asphalt. Is that, is that the right way to put it? Yeah.
Vincent:
Yeah. It basically, I mean maintenance, you can, I mean your driveway or your parking lot can last, I mean, sorry can last for as long as a new parking lot would mm-hmm as long as you maintenance and you’re on top of it, every two to three years, you know? Got it. I mean it just,
Tego:
And that’s how long that’s how often somebody should be doing this. Yes. Every couple, couple, three years. Got it. Yeah. And then, and, and you, you, you said to me earlier that obviously we’re in the Southwest. Oh yeah. And you know, I think, I think most of us know that have ever had exposed wood outside. It, it, it gets eaten up pretty quick. Oh, and it’s the same for asphalt, right?
Vincent:
Yes. Oh exactly. I mean, especially like I live in Rio Rancho and I mean up there, when it, during the winter we get a lot of snow. Yeah. You know, I mean, I think it gets more snow up there than down here. I mean, of course not the mountains, you know, but yeah. I mean up there, it gets a lot of rain, a lot of snow, you know? So it’s, it’s ideal to maintenance your part parking lot or your driveway just because you don’t want to have to replace it if you don’t have the funds for it,
Tego:
You know? Yeah.
Vincent:
It’s, it’s better just to be on top of it before you do have to replace it.
Tego:
Well, and I’ll just finish with, you know, I think the thing that, that I always think about is when I see one of those driveways or asked, or, or parking lots that have just been redone and resealed, it looks really good, right. Oh yeah. It’s like putting a fresh coat of paint on the house. Right. It just makes it pop, makes it look good. Oh yeah. And, and, and really, it’s not that expensive definitely. Compared to having to, you know, re asphalt something.
Vincent:
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. That’s it. I mean, it’s, it’s more on the cheaper site and that’s basically what it’s meant for. Yeah. You know, I mean, and I’m not saying, you know, it’s cheap to where, you know, I mean, it’s gonna be crazier and thing like that, but it’s more for people who don’t wanna spend that extra amount of money. Yeah. Replacing, they just wanna men, you know, not really mend it because you’re still maintaining it and mm-hmm, , you know, I mean, it, it just looks phenomenal whenever you do get it maintenance. Yeah. Because like I said, it can last as long as a brand new paved driveway, you know, or, I mean, it all depends on how you maintenance it and how many times a year it as well. Yeah.
Tego:
Yeah. No, that’s great. Well, I, I really appreciate you coming in and, and explaining that. And again, if somebody wants to get a hold of you, Vincent, how can they reach out to you? Just, just Google you at on Q asphalt Albuquerque. Is that the best way? Okay. Right. So on Q asphalt you’re. You’re in Rio Rancho, but, but you serve the whole Metro. Oh yeah.
Vincent:
Okay. All of Albuquerque, you know, I’m looking to even extend outside of Albuquerque as well, you know?
Tego:
Cool. Well, good. Well, thanks for coming in. Appreciate it. And we’re gonna bring Tracy in here and talk some more real estate again. Vincent. Alrighty. Thanks so much. Thank you. Have a good one.
